せかいで一番はやいレーサー 山下とおるオートバイレーサーの山下とおるさん（２８才）が４月４日にメルボルンのレースでゆうしょうして、日本人ではじめてせかいチャンピオンになりました。
山下さんは子どもの時、お父さんがオートバイに乗って手紙をはいたつしているのを見ました。だからバイクが好きで、４才の時にオートバイに乗りはじめました。お父さんといっしょに毎日れんしゅうして、１０才の時はじめてレースに出てかちました。
きょ年の１月にじこでけがをしてしまいました。おいしゃさんは「ざんねんですが、もう歩くことはできないでしょう。」と言いました。でも山下さんは一生けんめい歩くれんしゅうをしました。そして、６ヵ月後には歩くことができて、１年後にはまたオートバイに乗ることができました。
山下さんはほかの活動もはじめました。中学校に行って自分のけいけんを話したり、こまっている中学生の話を聞いてあげたりしています。そしてこのような中学生のために、レースでもらったお金を使って、車やオートバイのなおし方を教える学校「山下モータースクール」を作りました。そこでは、ただで車やオートバイのなおし方がならえます。
